Meet Foxtide, Your Newest Obsession

If your favorite bands are Beach Fossils, The Strokes or Yellow Days, then we found your newest obsession. Based out of San Diego, CA, Foxtide includes members Elijah Gibbons, Orion (AKA Oey) James, Dom Friedly, and Riley Conway. And with the help of TikTok, there is no doubt that they’ll soon be popping up on your listening radar. Lucky for us, we got to chat with the up and coming band about their biggest aspirations and future endeavors in music.

PLEASER: Hey guys! Could you introduce yourselves and your position in the band?

Elijah: I sing and play guitar, Oey on bass, Riley and I love the drums, [and] Dom just started playing the guitar.

How’d you come up with the name Foxtide?

E: Foxtide is the coolest name I could think of when I was fourteen and I still think it’s pretty cool.

What is your biggest goal as a band? Any dream venues or collaborations?

E: A collab with Kevin Parker or Anderson Paak would probably get me emotional.

Oey: Change the face of music, bring back live music with live musicians. I've always wanted to play some main stage.

E: Dude. Yeah, I’m tryna play Madison Square Garden!

Dom: I love Beyonce.

How is TikTok helping you guys grow your audience?

E: TikTok is fire, I mean, it got us this interview. I used to hate on it because it seemed cheesy, but I've come to love sharing the music through the app. It's one of a kind!

Any new music you're working on or planning to release?

E: TONS! The arsenal is stocked. Y'all are not properly prepared for this heat. 

O: Fuck yeah, we have four musicians from different backgrounds all coming together to write bangers.

D: Yeah man, I feel like it's really catchy and upbeat––something for people to dance to even if they've never heard of it.

Riley: These next ones are definitely blowing out your favorite speakers.

How would you describe your sound in three words?

E: Electric, surf, jazz.

R: Chops, chops, chops. 

O: Awesome, swag, radical.

D: Energetic feel good!
