Inhaler puts on a show stopping performance in Philadelphia

Walking into the Fillmore in Philadelphia on March 8th, you could feel the palpable energy all over the venue. Fans were dressed in their best Irish tees and a few cowboy hats were spotted, with one even making it on to the stage later in the show. Everyone was beyond excited for Inhaler to take the stage.

Been Stellar started off the show with a bang, setting the pace for the incredible set to follow. The last time Inhaler blessed Philly with a show was back in 2022 where they played at the Theatre of Living Arts. Having attended that show, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see them again and at a larger venue. They released their newest album, Open Wide, last month and fans were ready to hear some of the new songs live.

As the lights dimmed and the screams began, the dedicated fanbase braced themselves for the show of a lifetime. The band, consisting of Elijah Hewson, Robert Keating, Josh Jenkinson and Ryan McMahon, entered the stage and began the show with one of my personal favorites, “My Honest Face”. Immediately, you could feel the love and admiration in the room. Fans were dancing and singing along to every song, living in the moment.

Their music is incredibly danceable and the crowd looked to have the time of their lives jumping around. Huge smiles were seen everywhere I looked as fans got to hear their favorite songs. We got to listen to staple Inhaler songs, such as “When It Breaks” and “Who’s Your Money On? (Plastic House)”, and some new tunes such as “Eddie in the Darkness” and “The Charms”. It is such a feat to sound better live than on their recordings, and Inhaler does just that. The entirety of their setlist flowed so well and fans had nary a chance to catch their breath before belting the lyrics of the next banger.

Another part of the show that really stood out to me was seeing how great Inhaler is with their fans. Eli came down from the stage and had a fan sing part of “Dublin in Ecstasy” and later ushered a fan to throw their hat to him so he could wear it. It is truly heartwarming to see a band appreciate their fans so greatly.

As the show moved to an end, Inhaler pulled out the perfect encore, consisting of the title track of their most recent album as well as “It Won't Always Be Like This” and "Your House". Fans basked in every last minute with the band on stage before heading home to reminisce on the phenomenal show. Overall, Inhaler proved that they never fail to put on a memorable performance and we cannot wait for them to come back to Philadelphia next time.
