Not even the snow could stop the electric energy at The Basement East this past Wednesday in Nashville. Indie-pop duo, Mickey Darling, made of Skylar Molina and Austin Medrano, made their “I’m Almost Over U, I Promise” Tour one to remember. Their first time performing in Nashville unfolded as anything but ordinary.

Beginning the night with their song, “Feed My Ego,” everything from their stage presence that felt so natural to the crowd interactions that created a connection and made the show feel so personal, Mickey Darling was able to put on a show like no other. The crowd wasted no time to warm up, immediately dancing and jumping to every song the duo played. The energy bounced off of both the crowd and the band, creating an electrifying energy that everyone in the room could feel.

The audience passionately sang back every word to the band, from the deep cuts to the newest releases. Throughout the show, not only did the band showcase their musical talent, but they also jumped into the audience to share the dance floor with the crowd. Humorously dubbing the audience as  the “Nashville Sexies,” they concluded their set on a high note by delivering a crowd-favorite “Reverse Cowgirl.”

At the end of the show, Molina went on to say how they have stayed an independent band to show everyone that they can follow their dreams, regardless of more traditional routes, and still make them a reality. A night pulsating with the sheer rush of adrenaline, Mickey Darling left their mark on everyone in the room that night, making sure no one left without a smile on their face. The wholehearted connections formed through their music and the unwavering support of their fans is exemplified through the enduring impact that Mickey Darling is making within the music industry.

The show was an unforgettable experience, a shared moment of musical euphoria that resonated long after the final notes faded away.
