The adrenaline that courses through your body when the lights go down just before your favorite artist comes on stage is an indescribable feeling. One that can be quite hard to put into words, but one that we know all too well. However, this time it felt different, it felt even better if that is even possible to believe. Peter McPoland had finally reached the long awaited Nashville date on The Piggy Tour.

Quite literally jumping on stage, the energy that flooded the room felt like no other the moment the first note of the opening song “Mold” began. Peter and his band brought an energy into the room that transcended the ordinary concert experience. His performance came naturally, just being himself and having fun. From the second the show started, until it ended, he danced like no one was watching. McPoland even had to wear headphones to cover his in-ears because they had fallen out and broken in the past. To go right along with the headphones, he also rocked his bejeweled boot from previously breaking his 5th metatarsal in Chicago while opening the pit, but that didn’t stop him from dancing and jumping rope on stage with the mic cords. Being able to witness an artist be authentically themselves on stage, creating an atmosphere and that feeling for every person standing in the room to experience as well, is one few are able to create, but McPoland did so effortlessly.

McPoland's latest album, Piggy, released in August of this year, showcased his versatility as he took on the roles of recording and producing. Exploring new sounds within the realms of shoegaze and indie rock, he flawlessly translated these innovations into a captivating live performance. He played everything on his new album and deep cuts that only his earliest fans would know all of the words to. The show from beginning to end was fun, full of dancing and being surrounded by people who had come to share their love for McPoland and live music. The Pleaser team had some fun of our own, opening up the pit for his song, “Turn Off The Noise” which McPoland pointed out was the first pit of the tour.

The Piggy Tour proved to be an unforgettable experience, as McPoland said best, it was “the first night of the rest of your life.”
